As a busy mother of four, I'm always looking for easy and fun ways to get things done - AND I've found them - a lot of them. Especially when it comes to scrapbooking.
One of the top tricks I have found for quick and easy (and fun) scrapbooking is to use Sketches. Some scrappers call them 'maps' or 'blueprints', but they're all the same in that they show a basic layout that you can follow to make your own creative layouts, like this:

I like using sketches because first, they're easy. Second, they're proven - meaning they've been thought out by someone else in advance so placement and scale are usually accurate. I also like them because if I've been scrapbooking without any outside influences for a while, then they're just what I need to provide me with a fresh look and feel for my pages.
They're also flexible - meaning you can use any paper you want. Since you're working from a sketch you're free to use whatever paper you want. Some sketch offerings have finished samples alongside them for added inspiration but you're not confined to using the same colors and embellishments that are in the sample. You're free and that's important when you're looking at a stack of beautiful paper like I often am - that you've acquired from your local scrap store, convention, or other source.
